RangeIndex

class RangeIndex extends RowGroupIndex[RangeIndexEntry]

A range index is an index on row groups in a Parquet file, where each row group is indexed based on the range or ranges of the values within the group. Queries which touch or require data from any of the ranges must read the row group; other queries can skip the group entirely.

RangeIndex is an in-memory collection of RangeIndexEntry values, each of which lists a number of ranges corresponding to a single row group in a single Parquet file.
