A helper class to search substrings inside a bigger string. It uses regular expressions for searching.

StringSearcher

public StringSearcher(String pattern)

Create a searcher for the given pattern

Parameters:

pattern - substring to search

StringSearcher

public StringSearcher(String pattern,
              boolean acceptWildcard,
              boolean caseSensitive)

Create a searcher for the given pattern

Parameters:

pattern - substring to search

acceptWildcard - If true, the pattern can contains wildcards.

caseSensitive - If true, the searches will be case sensitive

searchOnString

public int searchOnString(String toSearch)

Searches the given string and returns the first occurrence of pattern on it.

Parameters:

toSearch - string to search.

Returns:

the index of first occurrence or -1 if pattern is not present.
