Method Detail

start

String start(String providerImageId,
           String iamRole,
           String securityGroup,
           String keyname,
           String elasticIp,
           org.duracloud.account.db.model.InstanceType instanceType,
           String instanceName)

Starts a new instance based on the given server image.

Parameters:

providerImageId - the ID of the server image to use in creating a new instance

iamRole - role to be associated with any instances started

securityGroup - the security group which is used to define the firewall settings for an instance

keyname - the name of the key pair which can be used to access the instance server

elasticIp - the IP address to be associated with this instance

instanceType - the type of hardward to be used for the instance

instanceName - the instance name that makes the instance easily identifiable in the aws console

Returns:

provider instance ID

stop

void stop(String providerInstanceId)

Stops a running instance.

Parameters:

providerInstanceId - the ID of the instance as known by the provider

restart

void restart(String providerInstanceId)

Restarts a running instance.

Parameters:

providerInstanceId - the ID of the instance as known by the provider

getStatus

String getStatus(String providerInstanceId)
                 throws DuracloudInstanceNotAvailableException

Retrieves the status of a running instance

Parameters:

providerInstanceId - the ID of the instance as known by the provider

Returns:

the current status of the instance

Throws:

DuracloudInstanceNotAvailableException

getInstanceType

org.duracloud.account.db.model.InstanceType getInstanceType(String providerInstanceId)
                                                            throws DuracloudInstanceNotAvailableException

Retrieves the instance type of the instance. The instance type describes the computing power of the hardware component of the instance.
