existing - XTDB document to update

userId - doing the update

entityGUID - of the entity to update

newTypeDefName - unique identifier of the new type to apply

metadataCollectionId - of the metadata collection in which the transaction is running

Change the type of the provided entity instance in the XTDB repository by pushing the transaction down into the repository itself.

Parameters:

xtdb - connectivity

userId - doing the update

entityGUID - of the entity on which to change the type

newTypeDef - to apply to the entity

Returns:

EntityDetail the entity with the new type applied

Throws:

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.EntityNotKnownException - if the entity cannot be found

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.PropertyErrorException - the properties in the instance are incompatible with the requested type

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.InvalidParameterException - if the entity exists but cannot be updated (deleted, reference copy, etc)

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.TypeErrorException - the requested type is not known or supported by the repository

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.ClassificationErrorException - the entity's classifications are not valid for the new type

org.odpi.openmetadata.repositoryservices.ffdc.exception.RepositoryErrorException - on any other error
