Convert a string of bytes to a ':' separated hex string

Parameters:

bytes - the byte[] to convert

Returns:

"0f:ca:fe:de:ad:be:ef"

toHexString

Deprecated.

Deprecated version of toBytes(String).

Parameters:

values - the hexstring to parse into a byte[]

Returns:

a byte[] representing the hexstring Deprecated because of inconsistent naming

NumberFormatException - upon values parse error

toBytes

public static byte[] toBytes(String values)
                      throws NumberFormatException

Convert a string of hex values into a string of bytes.

Parameters:

values - "0f:ca:fe:de:ad:be:ef"

Returns:

[15, 5 ,2, 5, 17]

Throws:

NumberFormatException - If the string can not be parsed
